Executive Assistant to CEO

Fort Collins, CO

ABOUT JOURNEY

Kevin Welch started Journey Payroll & HR in 2010. He wanted to challenge the industry norm. He wanted to bring quality service back to the payroll industry. Journey would be different–a customer service company that does payroll, while embracing innovation. Kevin and his team would lead with heart.

It worked spectacularly well. Journey has been named a "Colorado Company to Watch," listed as one of the fastest-growing companies in the region twelve years in a row, and recently won a prestigious Torch Award from the BBB recognizing us as a Northern Colorado Ethical Leader. Today, we have an industry-leading client retention rate, operations in 7 states, thousands of clients, and a great team who thrive in a culture that values heart, innovation, and honesty. You can find out more about that and Journey at journeypayrollhr.com or on social media.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an opening for an Executive Assistant to assist our CEO with administrative details that include calendar management, travel arrangements, communications, documents, contracts, relationships, and requested information gathering. Your support will be vital to free his efforts to focus on our business development and expansion.

In addition to “typical” Executive Assistant positions, this role is a great opportunity to showcase Kevin’s and Journey's brands through social media. If you’re a social media aficionado, this combines the best of both worlds by requiring organization as well as creativity skills!

This opportunity is for you if you:

  • Excel at anticipating what a fast-moving high-octane executive needs
  • Have a record of success in working with and through others to ensure that others have the information needed to make optimal decisions
  • Have a knack for proactively developing new, creative, and engaging social media content designed to increase partnerships and sales
  • Have mastered the art of anticipating needs and positively representing a leader through actions and communications
  • Would embrace the responsibilities of monitoring and reporting social media KPIs and metrics. (Note: This is not a marketing job; we use a marketing agency.)

We’re looking for a crucial team member who:

  • Possesses at least a High School diploma or equivalent, however, a bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Has 5+ years’ experience and demonstrated success as an executive assistant; experience in a B2B environment preferred
  • Has a high EQ and is naturally empathetic while still being a goal-driven performer
  • Takes initiative, prioritizes, and thrives in an environment of multitasking
  • Possesses strong team skills and the ability to inspire others to action without line authority
  • Has a thorough understanding of how to support a leader in a thriving business

This won't be the right environment for those who:

  • Aren't extremely detail-oriented
  • Want a detailed list of every task or have an expectation that those tasks will stay the same day in and day out
  • Play power games, office politics, or anything else that could erode a positive company culture
  • Lack a sense of urgency or moves at a slow, methodical pace

BENEFITS

Journey offers an abundance of benefits and employee perks to members of its staff family. This generosity includes:

  • 4-day (36 hour!) work week
  • Accrued paid time off
  • Self-given quarterly bonuses
  • 401k retirement plan with up to a 4% match
  • 100% paid for medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees
  • In-house masseuse and chiropractic care
  • A dedicated Zen Den office space
  • Regular social gatherings and activities (participation is optional)
  • And much more!

Expected salary - $60,000 - $70,000 per year

We will be receiving applications until May 10, 2024
